Jack Britten

Born on Tickalara Station, Turkey Creek, WA. (B: 1921. D: 2001)
Title: Bungle Bungles. Size 159 x 91 cm. Painted around 1997.
He worked as a stockman on many Kimberley stations and with keen eyesight was known to ‘spec’ gold in the Halls Creek area.  He was a senior lawman allowing his paintings to have endless depth and power, and he was one of the traditional owners of the Bungle Bungles. This artwork was purchased from a major collector in Adelaide, South Australia but unfortunately the original certificate was lost.
